	Butler's Collectable Small Dolls - Important information - Butler's are the Doll Experts in Australia, based on their years of Doll Making. Giftsbiweb would like to share some of this knowledge with our customers. Firstly, smaller dolls are much more difficult to make, and require much greater expertise from the maker than the large dolls available in some retail chains. Secondly, the quality of the porcelain and its thickness is very important in "grading" a doll, and ours are superb in both. Thirdly, detail of finish in the face: many modern dollmakers resort to stick-on decals for facial features, whereas ours have eyes and lashes hand painted by master craftspeople. Fourth, the clothing is exquisitely made, based on period costumes, of pure silk and the finest cotton (including undergarments), with hand sewn leather footwear and stylish accessories. Fifth, the wigs are all hand made American mohair, of the finest quality and style ever seen in Australia. These magnificent dolls showcase the craft and art of the Master Dollmaker and are prized collectable items. Only two European makers and one American Gold Medal Winner produce anything even approaching this quality, and retail their products from $A100 per piece.
